Unusually tall people already catch our eyes since they loom so far above the average height…but when paired with unusually short people the funny sight often makes us do a double-take. It’s nothing to gawk at of course but for some reason our pattern-seeking brains are fascinated by the contrast just as we scratch our heads and wonder how these people make out without a stepladder.
