A major part of parenting is exposing your child to new things. Hopefully, they get excited about things you like (or at least can stand).
How many soccer games did I attend as a child because my older brother loved the sport and played in multiple leagues? Upwards of 3,000, I think.
But, how many times did my mom have to hear me recap a trailer for a movie I saw recently or what each Pokémon evolves into? Conservative estimate: one million “conversations.”
However, some parents find their kids’ obsessions and phases interesting and unexpected. That’s what happened when one parent found out his kid was constantly playing a vineyard simulator.
