In 2021, many workers who slogged through the COVID-19 pandemic quit their jobs—The Great Resignation—causing employers to scramble and find replacements. There was also a surge in union activity with many employees forming collectives or going on strike to secure more pay and better benefits. On social media, workers everywhere started sharing their experiences with bad bosses, wage theft, horrible working conditions, low pay, and long hours.
After decades of stagnant wages and rising costs, workers have had enough. One place they’re gathering to vent their frustrations is Reddit’s r/AntiWork. We’re a week into 2022 and the worker uprising shows no sign of slowing. Here are some of the most frustrating stories people have posted about being mistreated by their bosses so far this year.
