One thing I have never understood is when parents are creepily overprotective of their adult children—especially when it comes to dating. Dads who come to the door “casually” carrying a shotgun, moms who grill potential partners…it’s almost like they want their children to remain alone and dependent on them forever! So healthy!
Well, one woman took to TikTok to share the next-level list she discovered her boyfriend’s mother posted about dating her son.
It’s…a lot.
TikTok user Emma, who is 18 and from Louisiana, shared a picture of the list, which includes ten rules.
The list was originally included on the mom’s Instagram account.
Some of the rules:
“He is not your ATM.”
“If you show up to my house looking like a stripper, I will make you go away.”
“He’s a ‘Mama’s Boy.’ Unless you have a ring on your finger, your opinion of that does not matter.”
“I know how to avoid jail.”
Folks felt bad for both Emma and for her boyfriend, whose mother has an incredibly dysfunctional view regarding both her relationship with her son and her son’s relationships with any prospective partner.
“This is so scary girl,” said one commenter of the threatening list.
