Here’s the thing about technology: there’s no way to escape it.
The FBI is in our computer, Jeff Bezos is in Alexa, you get the drift.
In fact, doorbells have become part of the technological revolution, with brands like Ring manufacturing doorbells with built-in cameras.
With these doorbells, people can see who is at the door and catch any acts of vandalism or burglary. They’re also helpful for other things: like finding out your boyfriend is trash.
Recently, TikTok user Colbi Carlson (@colbischeesin) posted a video she pulled from her doorbell’s camera.
The TikTok is short and sweet, with Carlson teeing up the footage.
And then showing her boyfriend telling his friend he wants a new girlfriend for Christmas.
Within four days, the post received 28.4 million views and 5.1 million likes.
@colbischeesin merry christmas to me š #WrappingGifts #HolidayTreats #DontDropTheOhYeah #foryoupage
Immediately, people began siding with Carlson. Even clothing brand PacSun had an opinion.
When her boyfriend started to get negative comments, Carlson uploaded a second video, explaining what happened. She said the boyfriend’s remark was a response to her calling him a “downgrade.”

TikTok users were not buying it.
But then they all turned their back on her when they found out she supported Donald Trump.
Back in July, Carlson uploaded a video in which she showed her support for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign ā which he lost to President-elect Joe Biden.
Well, TikTok users found it and quickly sided with the boyfriend. Yes, there are a lot of moving parts here.
Soon, Carlson’s videos were flooded with pro-boyfriend comments.
Just like gender, the internet is fluid.
