Here’s how to hide apps on your iPhone, courtesy of a viral TikTok.
TikToker Kaansanity recently shared a method for disguising apps on an iPhone by changing the names and symbols of those apps.
The video sports more than two million views. In it, Kaansanity explains how to use the shortcuts app to change icons. He used Tinder as an example.
After opening the Shortcuts app, which is an Apple application and comes loaded onto the phone automatically, Kaansanity instructs viewers to click the ‘plus’ button to add an action.
Users can then “Open App” and add it to their home screens.
At that point, Kaansanity demonstrates how to change the name (he uses ‘weather’) and the app’s logo.
Now his Tinder app looks like the standard weather app on Apple products.
Commenters wrote that the hack seemed “shady,” but some pointed out that the hack was nothing more than the way people had been making “aesthetic home screens” since the new iOS came out last fall. Others praised Kaansanity’s intellect.
