As governments have added increasing restrictions on how businesses can operate during the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have gotten increasingly creative.
When cities banned indoor dining, restaurants responded by increasing their outdoor dining options. As the weather has gotten cooler in many parts of the world those outdoor setups shave started to incorporate things like heat lamps, tents, and even wooden and glass structures.
Now, as some have observed, the line between indoor and outdoor dining has begun to blur. If the whole point of forcing restaurants to switch to outdoor seating was to ensure proper air circulation, thereby lowering virus transmission rates, the more these outdoor setups begin to resemble crude buildings, the more absurd and pointless the situation becomes.
You can’t blame the businesses, who are merely trying their best to survive with very little government support, but things are getting straight-up silly.
