The current crisis is forcing people to change their daily routines wildly…with mixed results.
With all the changes people have been getting creative and that applies to religious leaders as well. Father Tim Pelc, a 70-year-old priest at St. Ambrose Parish in Detroit, Michigan recently came up with a creative and playful solution to the problem of not being able to make physical contact with his parishioners.
In a photo that has since gone viral, Father Pelc is seen using a squirt gun full of holy water to bless his flock while social distancing.
Pelc was looking for a fun and safe way to dole out blessings on Easter and the result was such a bizarre and funny image that people were delighted.

Being both topical and entertaining the image of course quickly became a meme. Squirt Gun Priest? Why not? It’s 2020!
