People are more and more open about discussing mental health and the way conditions like chronic depression and anxiety can mess with how you perceive and react to the world. One issue with having anxiety is that if it’s your everyday experience, you might not even realize that’s what you’re feeling isn’t normal. That’s probably why this anxiety symptoms checklist shared by Twitter used @depressionnote struck such a chord with so many people, receiving over seven thousand retweets:
anxiety feels like
• increased heart rate
• worrying about the future
• feeling disconnected from the world
• loss of appetite
• insomnia

The poster encouraged others to share their experience of what anxiety is like under the hashtag #AnxietyFeelsLike, and added a few additional notes:
• The unwillingness to get out of bed almost every morning
• Perceiving simple tasks like brushing your teeth or taking a shower to be incredibly arduous tasks
• You’re constantly in your “own little world” because you can’t properly deal with the pressures of reality— R (@ShuShee93) December 6, 2019
Those symptoms also sound like depression, which often interweaves with anxiety. It’s a tough battle to fight, but if you read the responses below, you’ll see you’re not alone:

Afraid to tell anyone you need help. Not being able to go to a place you have been a 1000 times before. Missing out on things that you love to do. Feeling sick, nervous arms, hot flashes. Being unable to travel long distances without panicking. Constant worry. #AnxietyFeelsLike
