Comedian’s Son Is Mocked For Waving Goodbye And Ignites Important Discussion

Toxic masculinity is everywhere. Things are needlessly gendered, people are homophobic, and men aren’t “allowed” to cry. Even small boys are criticized for showing affection, like comedian Joanna Neary’s son, who was mocked by his teacher for waving goodbye to his mom as she dropped him off at school.

Waving. Not knitting her a blanket or helping her fix her makeup. He waved to her.

People on Twitter were outraged by her story and shared their own takes on toxic masculinity.
