Twitter Dunks On Elon Musk For Suspending Accounts Engaging In “Impersonating” Him

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Elon Musk is now in charge of Twitter. Since he’s taken over the social media site, he’s implemented many changes, and he continues to announce more as they come.

Most recently, he has decided to permanently suspend accounts engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended.

Comedian Kathy Griffin’s account was suspended for using Elon’s name in her profile.

Elon added to his initial tweet saying they will not be offering warnings to accounts that violate the rule.

Others also tested the new rule by changing their names to “Elon Musk”.

Elon’s biggest plan seems to be to implement a monthly fee of $8 for Twitter verification, but users point out that charging for blue check marks sort of defeats the purpose of the system.

Some Twitter users poked fun at Musk for seemingly just learning what verification was for in the first place.

Users also called out Musk for being hypocritical.

There were also many people who took the time to just poke fun at the whole situation.
