Just 19 Painfully Relatable “I Hope This Email Finds You Well” Memes

After March, we were all struggling with how to resume normal business as much as possible. In some states, there seemed to be no acknowledgment of a pandemic, so they were relatively chill. And in some countries, coronavirus got under control, and life could resume. For people who had to stay in lockdown or who are still trying to maintain social distancing protocols despite attempts to reopen everything, “normal” is not what’s up. Crying in at the dinner table and learning to make your own shoes is what’s up.

Yet, we still seem to need to send and receive emails. Figuring out how to reach out to someone in a formal message feels impossible and a lot of places seem to have fallen back on the old classic “I hope this email finds you well!”

Obviously, no emails are finding anybody well. That’s why this meme on Twitter about how the email is finding people is so funny. People share images of how these polite emails are actually finding them: in the pit of despair, howling at the moon, crouching in a basement, etc. No emails are finding anyone well. Stop hoping for that. Write “hope this email finds you capable of digesting information” and get to the point. I have important existential angst to get back to.
