‘It Is So Over’ — Pictures Of AI-Generated Women Floating Around Twitter Stirs Debate And Turns Into Meme

AI is coming for us all…

From ChatGPT to DeepFakes to AI-generated women you could swear were real models. If this isn’t already The Matrix, we’re on our way. This is where the “it is so over memes” come from.

Recently, Twitter user @heartereum posted a tweet with several pictures of women in bikinis and lingerie, with the text, “It is SO over.” The tweet sparked the usual outrage about unrealistic beauty standards and objectifying the female body, but here’s the thing, none of them are real people.

When finally asked if the images were fake, Heart replied, “I mean the machine learning digested gigabytes of real pics of real girls, but these images are 100% computer generated.”

Only a few years ago this technology couldn’t fool most people. There were too many glaring mistakes. Now, you have to pour through the images pixel by pixel to find something out pf place. Although, because it’s the internet, someone will always take the opposite position…

Where exactly is all of this AI generated “art” headed?

No where good, that’s where. However, I am comforted by the facts that people seem to see it too. So, even though people and companies will use AI generated art anyway, some Luddites like me will always support actual artists.

The It Is So Over memes…

Like any big thing that happens on Twitter, it eventually spurred some memes. Here are some good ones we found.

AI is here to stay. It will be something that’s increasingly wedged into our lives until we won’t even remember what it was like before it. That being said, please support your favorite artists. It’s a tough time for them, and I’m not so sure we should be handing off art to the robots.
