Welcome To Millennial Culture 101 (30 Tweets)

Everyone loves to hate Millennials…even Millennials. Most of this hate is unearned—the result of self-satisfied Baby Boomers sucking the world dry, ruining the economy, and then handing the next generation a fatally flawed system and blaming them if they don’t thrive in it. But it does play a role in Millennial culture.

So in this atmosphere of acrimony and malaise Millennials have formed their own culture, equal parts self-protective and self-critical, to help them navigate a confusing, tumultuous, and tiring world. This Millennial culture involves things like lo-fi beats and houseplants—pastel colors and tiny beanie hats. Don’t ask us why, it just does. It also celebrates things like being introverted or anti-social that previous generations previously looked down upon. If Boomers celebrated the virtues of free love, Millennials find ecstasy in canceling plans.

Here are 30 painfully accurate examples of Millennial culture in all its angsty modern glory.
