Social distancing seems to be getting to everyone, at least based on the things people are now experiencing sexual tension with. This may be the horniest meme I’ve seen on Twitter since March, and the Internet is generally a very horny place, so you know that’s saying a lot. According to Know Your Meme, “the sexual tension between” meme format has actually been around a really long time, citing a tweet posted by @_Scottness in 2011 on September 11th. Never forget.
“The sexual tension between you and your yogurt when you forget your spoon,” Scott wrote.
The stuff people write in this format is supposed to be relatable and I just don’t feel that passionately about yogurt. But I have definitely felt some of the extremely specific sexual tensions listed by people on Twitter as the sexual tension meme surged this week. Tension is so fun, because it’s the moment before anything happens when it feels like anything could happen.
These sexual tension memes might be too erotic for someone who has been staying away from other people for five months, but I’m just thinking of this moment as the sexual tension between me and the end of the pandemic. Enjoy being titillated:
