20 Egregious Times Shameless Bosses Refused Time-Off Requests

That is absolutely horrible.

I once worked on the same shift as a really close friend, and I couldn't go to her engagement party bc I had more seniority so if I had requested off for it, hers would have gotten denied.

And they wonder why ppl get burned out in healthcare.

My former boss called me less than an hour after I learned my 27yo sister died unexpectedly, while I was rushing to my parents and asked when I’d be back and what about my projects. Started my exit plan the next day, now self employed and 3x his VP salary. Honestly thanks Dude.

I was in the hospital for a suicide attempt and my job at the time found the hospital I was at and called me and told me I had to come back to work because someone was on vacation. And that person on vacay was a bully and encouraged my suicide
