If you live in the USA, your school experience was probably similar to what you see on TV. If you live outside of the US, the weird things American schools do might not even seem real to you.
The truth is: they’re weird and a lot of us know they’re really weird.
Between reciting the pledge of allegiance like zombies at the beginning of the day and the literal metal detectors when you walk in, there are a lot of weird things at American schools that people from other countries are pretty confused by.
Here are some of the most perplexing things US schools do:
1. Starting school so early
2. Needing a hall pass to walk around
3. Actually having lockers
4. Reciting the pledge
5. Flags are everywhere
6. The morning announcements
