Remote work has been a thing for years, but the pandemic kicked it into high gear.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, “Between 2019 and 2021, the number of people primarily working from home tripled from 5.7% (roughly 9 million people) to 17.9% (27.6 million people).”
The rise of remote work has been astonishing, but so has the increase in “over employment” where workers are covertly staffed on 2 different full-time jobs simultaneously. While management for the most part isn’t a fan of this phenomenon, employees love the extra income.
This leads me to TikToker Haley (@haley.hustles), who is known for her videos sharing tips on remote work, “side gigs,” and “hustles.”
She recently shared a video about working multiple remote jobs and the now-viral video struck a chord with fellow TikTokers.
Haley explains in the text overlay of the video, “When your elders keep telling you to ‘get a real job’ because remote jobs are going to be outsourced but you can literally work 4 remote jobs at the same time & make $60 an hour.”
She can also be seen lipsynching “Mmk, well I won’t be doing any of that, but thank you,” in the video.
