Chrissy Teigen Reveals She’s Been Hospitalized Due To Pregnancy Complications

Chrissy Teigen is currently pregnant with baby number three with her husband of seven years, John Legend. Though Teigen used IFV to conceive her first two children, Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, her third pregnancy threw the couple for a loop.

Before having her breast implants removed back in June, Teigen took a routine pregnancy test, which resulted in a false postitive. However, a few weeks later she took a test of her own and was shocked that it came out positive! Thankfully, the surgery did not impact her pregnancy, but Teigen revealed on Sunday that she had been hospitalized due to pregnancy complications.

Teigen had already been ordered on bed rest for weeks due to excessive bleeding during her pregnancy. But things took a turn over the weekend, as she explained in a series of Instagram stories, that led to her seeking more serious medical attention.

“We’re talking more than your period, girls, and definitely not spotting,” Teigen told her followers, from the comfort of a hospital bed.  A lot of people spot, and it’s usually fine, but mine was a lot.”

Before being admitted to the hospital, the bleeding had apparently gotten so bad to the point that it was like “if you turned a faucet on to low” and just left it there. “It was at the point today where it was just never stopping bleeding,” she added.

As for the cause of the bleeding, Teigen said, “in the simplest of terms,” that her placenta is “really, really weak.”

I’m really good, the baby is so healthy, like growing stronger than Luna or Miles, he moves so much earlier than they ever did, he’s like a roly-poly. And we have so many great pictures of him. He’s so strong, and I’m so excited for him because he’s so wonderful and just the strongest little dude. But basically, he is like the strongest, coolest dude in the shittiest house. So, his house is just like, falling apart.

He didn’t have the strongest chance, in the very very beginning, so all we’re trying to do now is trying to make sure he’s got a lot of fluid around him, and that I’m resting obviously as much as possible. It’s just hard because there’s not much you can do. I’m in that weird in-between time of it being really dangerous to try anything.”

Teigen went on to say that basically, if she and her little boy can make it through the next few weeks and get out of the “danger zone,” then she and her doctors can take it from there.

“But we have to get through this first,” she continued. “Yeah, it is scary, but it’s scary in the way that there’s nothing to do. I’m taking my progesterone, my iron, my you know—trust me, we’re on it, we’re trying everything we can.”

From thing Teigen said doesn’t help, is unsolicited medical advice from Twitter and Instagram users, as it only serves to fuel her anxiety. Both Chrissy Teigen and her baby seem to be in the best medical care, so hopefully, this crazy pregnancy will have a happy ending.

Teigen and Legend revealed the news about their baby in August at the end of the music video for his single, “Wild,” which you can view below.
