We live in a world that is deeply weird about aging. We’re taught to be afraid of passing the age of 25, even though that’s the side of life we spend most of our time on. Every wrinkle gets noted. We’re told we are irrelevant and unimportant after 30, and it’s much, much worse for women. Even beautiful women.
While many of us would be jealous to spend even a part of our lives looking like Christie Brinkley, in a way it’s probably harder to go through middle age when you’re considered one of the most gorgeous women in the world.
Brinkley often shares throwback photos from her time as a younger model, and she was absolutely stunning:

And now at 66 years old, Brinkley is still absolutely stunning:
We should all be so lucky as to look like that when we are 66. Brinkley has spoken frequently about how it feels to age and how her perspective on how she looked when young has changed over the years.
But are her commenters even reading the captions? Prevention.com noted that one of Brinkley’s followers seems to have passed by all the positive affirmations and self-reflection and decided to attack Brinkley for no clear reason.
“Your[sic] looking SO OLD,” they wrote on a picture of Brinkley’s.
Christie Brinkley could have responded to the age diss in so many ways, but she ultimately went a super classy route.
“I feel so lucky to have reached my age in good health,” she replied. “Especially today with Covid 19 ravaging the world millions are not so lucky.”
That’s right. Yes, Brinkley is beautiful, but more importantly, she’s healthy, safe, protected, and surviving in a really difficult world where so many people don’t have those privileges or care. She looks great and she feels great—and grateful. Something tells me that troll is not so lucky.
