Some celebrities couples post everything about themselves and basically make being in love with each other their brand. Every baby photo goes up on every platform, every anniversary gets celebrated with a series of intimate pics. And that’s fine and that’s for them, but it is not for Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling.
The two met on set in 2012 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines, according to US Magazine, and had their first kid two years later. They now have two children, and neither Ryan nor the kids make much of an appearance on Mendes’ timeline. That is private.
She did post a stunning black and white photo of herself laughing on the beach, which she captioned:
Went for a run on the beach this morning🖤⠀

No I didn’t. ⠀

Haven’t seen a beach this year. ⠀

Most people reading that would (probably) correctly assume Mendes is referring to the fact that we are still in a pandemic and life is insane and of course, she’s not out running and laughing on the beach without a care in the world.
For some reason, one of her followers decided to drag her husband into it and make it is his fault.
“You need to tell Ryan to get you out more,” they commented. Mendes was not into that!
“No thank you, I’m good,” she replied. “Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world.”
It seems as though Mendes was politely telling someone who doesn’t know her at all to calm down and not talk about her husband. And I think the commenter was just desperately trying to connect with a celebrity she admires, and abjectly failed. You know, regular fandom stuff.
The interaction did give everyone an opportunity to comment about how much they agree with Mendes:
Yes, in a global pandemic I can’t think of anywhere better to be than at home with Ryan Gosling, not even running down a beautiful beach. Maybe running down a beautiful beach right into his arms?
