Everyone Was Shocked To Hear Christian Bale’s British Accent At The Golden Globes

The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards showcased a variety of talented Hollywood stars including Christian Bale who was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film for his iconic role as Dick Cheney in Vice.

It’s no secret that Bale has had quite the successful movie career. From The Dark Knight Trilogy to The Big Short and even back to his American Psycho days, the versatile actor has taken on several big screen hits.

Perhaps it’s because he always seems to be playing an American character, that we collectively forget Christian Bale is actually British. Whatever the reason, his acceptance speech at tonight’s Golden Globes ceremony came as a shock to many.

At this year’s Golden Globes, Christian Bale took home the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in the new film Vice.

He even thanked Satan in his acceptance speech for “giving him inspiration” on how to play Cheney.

During his acceptance speech, people were shocked by Bale’s British accent—because apparently, every year we forget he’s not American.

For future reference, Christian Bale is from Haverfordwest, Wales, but you’ll probably forget this by next year’s award ceremonies anyway.
