Apparently Everyone Absolutely Hates Canadian Cartoon Child Caillou

Non-parents might not be that familiar with the Canadian TV show Caillou, because it’s targeted at young impressionable children.

These parents hate Caillou because those young impressionable children are being influenced by his abominable behavior.

He’s only four years old and he’s hated by almost all adults that have come across him since his show started airing in 1997.

Caillou is trending on Twitter again as people discuss their hatred. Where does it come from?

Distractify reports that he’s been acknowledged as one of the most hated child cartoons since 2017 when writer Tristin Hopper called Caillou “quite possibly the world’s most universally reviled children’s program” in the National Post.

Most children’s shows attempt to be educational or teach lessons, and Caillou just kinda wigs out in the normal way a four-year-old would. He has tantrums, is rude to adults, and whines constantly.

Little kids might feel like this is just good representation, but for adults watching, it’s just a reminder of what’s hard about parenting. Some have even said that their kid’s behavior gets worse after watching Caillou for a while.

I would not have any interest in this show under any circumstances, but the hatred in these tweets about the hairless boy are still pretty hilarious. Caillou’s not real, so he’s not hurt by them. Enjoy:
