There is a deep fascination on the Internet for Disney princesses being shown to us in different ways: as their real-life counterparts, as different races, as food. I really didn’t think there were any more versions of Disney princesses to come up with, but Utah-based artist Maeli Arnold has proven that there is no bottom to the barrel of human imagination. She’s cracked the code and made Disney princess drawings interesting again.
It all seems to have started with a game on TikTok where she listed all the princess names, and a number of cartoon shows that all have different styles. She’d then pick two at random off slips of folded paper and combine them:
And the results are really something. Here’s Pocahontas in the style of The Simpsons:
Sometimes the princesses are clearly modeled off of a particular character from the show, like Marge Simpson above. It’s very weird, like seeing both characters in a strange costume. It’s also pretty funny and fun to watch them come to life in her TikToks.

The most popular TikTok has been Ariel by far, probably because she remains one of the biggest princesses of all time and Bob’s Burgers has a die-hard fan base. Plus, it’s pretty funny.

Since finishing her list, Arnold has been randomly drawing other characters in Bob’s Burgers style, and even opened an Etsy shop to sell the image.
