There are a lot of different ways to respond to protests against the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. There are a lot of racists rallying to protect the police state. And there are a lot of protestors who want to see police held accountable for their crimes, especially as the cops escalate violence at protests that are otherwise peaceful. These are two clear perspectives.
So what in the hell is this lady trying to do?
This lady stopped someone boarding up a store in Santa Monica so she could hold the drill for a picture, then drove away. Please don’t do this. #santamonicaprotest #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatterLA pic.twitter.com/lgt2rZogk9

Twitter user @ewufortheloss made this “influencer” or something go viral after posting a video in which she appears to ask a man boarding up a business window if she can pose in his place, holding a drill. She gets her picture taken, thanks him, and hands the drill back, then gets in her car and drives away. The video was supposedly taken in Santa Monica, where a number of buildings have been looted.
You have to wonder what weird lie this influencer with a drill would be attaching to this image. Is she claiming to own a business? Is she claiming to be helping business in Santa Monica on a volunteer basis? Is she against looting? For protests? Against both protests and looting? I have so many questions.
Most people just have disgust (also appropriate):

The woman was identified as Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin, or @FactsWithFiona on Twitter, according to the NY Post. Unsurprisingly, she has not responded with comments on her behavior. She was probably thrilled when this other white woman caught the Internet’s attention after she was filmed posing in front of a looted T-Mobile—in matching colors no less!

Does it need to be said that influencers shouldn’t be doing this? I guess so. Don’t so this.
