TikTok influencer Nicole Sanchez (aka Neekolul) gave her viewers a tour of her $2,000,000 apartment and people are irked.
“OK Boomer Girl” first jumped into the zeitgeist after wearing a Bernie Sanders T-shirt while singing a song known as “OK Boomer.”
She has also developed a rep for wearing a shirt from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that boasts “tax the rich” as a slogan.
Her TikTok followers have swelled to over 700,000.
But now she’s being rebuked for what many viewers believe was a video bragging about her wealth.
She uploaded a video to YouTube titled “$2,000,000 Apartment Tour.” Viewers were not thrilled with the video, the apartment, OR the “East Wing Gaming Room” set up.
The video was hit with tons of negativity and has over 15,000 downvotes… and only 2,000 likes.
“The OK Boomer girl went from criticizing Rich Boomers to becoming a Rich Boomer,” one user commented on YouTube.
“Well. Wasn’t she the same girl that said ‘tax the rich’ but getting a 2 mil apt. Irony,” read another comment. “And moved to Dallas from cali to avoid taxes. Weird.”
Sanchez tried to defend herself in a video last month by claiming the rich were billionaires, not millionaires.
“I think when people mean like, ‘Tax the rich,’ I think at the end of the day they do mean, like, billionaires and people who have insane, unfathomable amounts of wealth,” she said.
She also tried to rebut people who she thought were rude.
“I had my stance on views and politics when I first put the first ‘OK Boomer’ TikTok. And even like, whatever I’m making now, compared to then, I would see if people would be upset if I didn’t have those views anymore,” she added. “Whether I’m making this money or not, I just feel like it’s not something to be rude about. Because there’s nothing to be rude about.”
