Rarely Seen Celebrity Photos From The Early 2000s (50 Pics)

In 2001, Leonardo DiCaprio and Britney Spears partied and threw out a “westside” to the photographer.

When Andy Warhol said we’d all get fifteen minutes of fame, he hadn’t heard about two stars that would remain famous for decades. Here’s a pair of stars chilling with each other and they’re still famous 20 years later.

What brought a pop-star together with an actor who still had yet to take on his finest role (Calvin in Django)? It was probably Titanic. I’m guessing once you’re in the movie Titanic you can call up an agent and say “can I meet Britney?” and she will make that face when she hears you called. Good for them.

Paul Walker and Jessica Alba in the 2005 Action Thriller ‘Into The Blue.’

Sadly, we lost the star of the Fast and the Furious series in 2013. But he left behind some terrific action movies. Into the Blue may have split the critics, but fans loved it.

Alba claims that she helped solidify the ending of the film:

“In the original script, at the end of the movie, Paul comes and rescues me. I do nothing for the last quarter of the movie. I told the director and said you know I can do action. I’m the most experienced person here. I mean girls don’t really want to see girls get rescued all the time. I came up with all the action scenes at the end and got an action coordinator to cut them together.”

The VMAs in 2003 get extra spicy when Britney Spears and Madonna kiss.

In what certainly raised a few eyebrows at the time, Madonna, Britney, and Christina appeared on the same stage at the same time and capped off the performance with a passionate make-out session. Christina’s face says they rehearsed it, but who knows? Was it as good as the notorious “wardrobe malfunction” at the Super Bowl? Yes, it was better.

That’s not all that happened. Christina got in on the action as well. Was it a ploy to make headlines? Yes. Does that matter? No. It happened. It was glorious. We all talked about it for days after. God bless us, everyone.

Kanye West hits it big and never lets up.

Before Kanye became a household name and one of the biggest rappers of the era, he was a producer, making beats for Jay-Z, and doing a bang-up job. This photo from early in his career shows just how serious he was about making it big.

Obama may have called him a jackass for stealing Taylor Swift’s mic at the VMAs, but Kanye earned his fans. He hit it so big, he thought he died in an accident and went to heaven. That’s what Kanye’s life has felt like for decades. No wonder he’s a little odd now.
