Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling played lovers in The Notebook, and it wasn’t long before they started a real romance of their own. Actors can’t spend that much time pretending to be in love before they start dating and pretending to be in love in real life!
Sadly, the love did not last, but through no real fault of their own. As Gosling said in an interview: “Show business is the bad guy. When both people are in show business it’s too much show business. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow.”

Winslet claims that her role in this film helped her land more serious roles in the future: “I think creatively it opened people’s eyes to other sides of myself as a performer. I think that perhaps if it hadn’t been for that, maybe I wouldn’t necessarily have been considered for something like The Reader. I was able to show my versatility in Eternal Sunshine, and versatility obviously expands in all kinds of different directions.”

Wow. Were we ever so young? No one knew what a smash the reality show would be. And I’m certain these two had no idea what was coming in their future. Or maybe they did. The rich are different. They might have been told from the start their lives were going to be filled with glamor and a lot of cameras.

Lindsay may have fallen from grace after her start as a Disney star, but she did her time and ended up distracting the public from her troubles with the law by starring in Liz & Dick (2012) and The Canyons (2013), two of the absolute worst movies ever made. Just terrible. Can’t even remember what happened before those two as a result so good job, Lindsay!

Whether you love cocaine or REALLY love cocaine, Blow is an exciting movie. The standard crime-drama-bio-pic is lifted to new heights because of the chemistry between Depp and an actress known well in Spain but not yet in the US, Penelope Cruz.
Cruz learned as many English phrases as she could and had this to say about working on the film: “Then after I worked with him on Blow, I learned how to say, ‘I want to work with Johnny Depp again!’ He’s very addictive and he just gets better and better over the years.”

Here’s what makeup artist Kazuhiro Tsuji had to say about working with Carrey: “On set, [Carrey] was really mean to everybody and at the beginning of the production they couldn’t finish. After two weeks we only could finish three days’ worth of shooting schedule, because suddenly he would just disappear and when he came back, everything was ripped apart. We couldn’t shoot anything.” He stepped away from shooting for a few weeks before returning to finish the film.

Is Swordfish a great movie? I don’t know if that question has ever been asked by anyone who isn’t a salaried film critic forced to watch it. Everyone else is in the same boat, asking “how good did Halle Berry look?” And the answer is great. She did a nude scene in this cyberterrorism thriller and I literally don’t remember anything else that happened in the film. Travolta is in it, I think? Who cares?
Here’s what Berry had to say about it: “So much of my life I was afraid to [do a nude scene]. With the success of my Dorothy Dandridge project and the critical acclaim that brought me, I finally felt that I didn’t have to prove myself anymore.”

Tragically, we lost Heath Ledger before he could see how comic book fans and average movie-goers alike praised his performance as The Joker. His bizarre, frightening, and funny moments came to life because he took the role as seriously as possible.
Here’s what his costar Christian Bale had to say about working with him: “Our first scene was in an interrogation room together, and I saw that he’s a helluva actor who’s completely committed to it and totally gets the tone that Chris [Nolan] is trying to create with this. We’re not going for actors revealing their enjoyment of playing a wacky caricature. We’re treating this as serious drama. You go into character and you stay in the character. I love that. I find that so ridiculous that I love it, and I take that very seriously. Heath was definitely embracing that. When he was in the makeup and the garb he was in character the whole time; and when he took it off he was absolutely fantastic company to be around.”
