There aren’t a whole lot of sources of joy these days, which explains why people are so in love with TikTok twins, and Da Vinci? meme creators Chris and Patrick Vörös. The two were already gaining a steady following, but a recent video in which they make a “joke” about how to pronounce the name of Leonardo Da Vinci has skyrocketed them into being a beloved meme.
In the TikTok, the twins are sharing a clip of themselves playing with the Instagram trivia filter, trying to answer questions correctly. They mostly don’t, but everyone’s favorite question and answer is when the filter asks, “Who painted the Mona Lisa?”
They don’t seem to know, and when the answer comes up, they read “Da Vinci” and questioningly pronounce it as ” Da Vinki?!”

Most people seem to take the video at face value, assuming the twins really are just silly himbos (the male bimbo) who don’t know anything and are exposing themselves on TikTok. An interview with Buzzfeed suggests they do know and planned this answer on purpose, circling back to it after seeing it the first time, so they could record the “Da Vinki” response. But they are generous men, and don’t want to ruin it for everyone.
“We made the entire world laugh for a week now, and if during this time, people could get a good kick out of us…and if it makes people feel smarter than us, then that’s fine,” they said.
After being pushed on the issue, they answered, “At the end of the day, obviously we’re smart people and we obviously know who da Vinci is. If you’re looking for the headline, ‘The video was fake’ or something, feel free to not say that because personally I think it was just a funny video. We don’t want to ruin the fun of it all for people.”
Generous kings.
Ultimately, the twins want to be a wrestling duo, and have even auditioned for the WWE. They were told to keep building their social media presence and to keep at it, but with the pandemic the opportunities to connect with a live audience are non-existent. Instead, they just make these videos endearing themselves to all of us:

And the Da Vinky/Da Vinci memes have been the biggest gift of all:

As far as I’m concerned, Da Vinki IS who painted the Mona Lisa now.
