2020 was the year we were all going to get our sh*t together. We were *this* close. And then COVID-19 hit, destroying everybody’s plans for traveling, partying, graduating, dating, and hugging our buds.

The “My plans/2020 meme” pulls scenes from movies, TV, and other pop culture references, and compares them to their hopeful beginnings. It’s the unprecedented laughing in the face of the precedented, not unlike the famous”expectations vs. reality” meme that’s been going around for some time.
