Boss Attaches IQ Test To Whiny Email After His ‘High-Ranking Dad’ Gets Him The Job

A recent entry in the popular Reddit forum “Antiwork” has thousands of people laughing at a petty boss who couldn’t handle the job handed to him by his daddy, and was even less able to handle the derision from those he was given power over despite being unqualified for the job.

The enraged tyrant blamed this on his youth, stating that he was half the age of his employees, and insisted that he got the job from dad not because of “privilege,” but because of all the hard work he’d done in half the lifetimes of everyone else and also his incredible talents.

This guy went so far as to attach the supposed results of some supposed IQ test, which is always something you do when you’re confident that you deserve respect.

“My boss has been getting a lot of s–t from the team because his high ranking dad got him a job he’s unqualified for,” the post headline reads. “I think the disrespect may be getting to him.”

It definitely seems like a sign that the pressure is getting to you when you send an email to your team with an introduction in all caps accusing them of “crying.” The things he assumes are being said about him might also clue you in as to exactly the type of person this guy is.

“I didn’t get where I am from luck, the ‘patriarchy’, ‘white privilege’ or any other nonsense. I’m not ashamed to say I got here from hard work and talent.”

It’s unclear who exactly would be ashamed to say those things that sound a lot like bragging. But he goes on to talk about how much better he is than all the people who work under him.

“This wasn’t just me outworking and outperforming you at one point, it’s me consistently putting the work in my entire life throughout school, college, and in my own studies. Yet you’re crying when you’re not handed what I worked for. Combine that with my natural talent (proven below) and of course, I’m doing well.”

Just incredible to proclaim to a whole batch of people whose respect you desire that you’ve worked more than twice as hard as them (to make up for the fact that he’s half everyone’s age) and was simply born better than them, so he deserves better things. The “proven below” bit refers to a screenshot of a score on some alleged IQ test by a French software company.

As many commenters rightly pointed out, online IQ tests are not valid as they cannot be done in sterile conditions and many of them are simply scams, handing people high scores no matter what answers they give in an attempt to sell you something. Regardless, IQ tests have been highly criticized as any measure of intelligence, only really testing a certain type of problem-solving capability and not being any measure of general “talent” or ability to do a specific job.

It’s also a test made by white dudes, for white dudes, but sure, privilege plays no part in what’s happening here.

“If you find yourself in a poor position, maybe look to improve faults in yourself and not everyone else,” he concludes.

If he’s finding himself in the “poor position” of all his workers hating him, maybe he should take his own advice. He’s certainly not getting any sympathy from Reddit commenters.

So yea, the time to hand in that resignation was yesterday.
