Woman Wants To Know If She Did Something Wrong When She Jogged Braless

Tensions are high, what with every outlet for  the majority of human behavior being shut down and all. People seem to be squabbling over ridiculous things, though to be fair, we always do that. But this story from Redditor u/Throwawaynipplejog on r/AmITheA**hole feels like the perfect example of people who have too much time on their hands.

Our poster writes that she is a 27-year-old woman who can’t go to the gym anymore because they’re all closed. Duh. She has been running for exercise, mostly at night. She says she wears leggings and a long-sleeve shirt when she’s running, but hasn’t been wearing a sports bra because there’s no one around and she doesn’t need it. Except now the nipple police are apparently out and agitated:

Last night I passed a family of four (mum, dad, girl and boy around 8-13) on the opposite side of the street from me and I noticed they turned their heads as I ran by. No big deal. At the end of the street I turned and ran up the next street over and at the end of that street I ran into the family again. I had my earbuds in but I could tell they were talking and wanted my attention. I stopped, paused my music, and listened and the parents were quite irritated. They said I should have some decency and run with a bra on because a lot more families are out and walking around now and they don’t want to see me running like that.

I was definitely taken aback. I could only say “you’ve got to be kidding me?” before I left and started to run again. For context, I am not resembling Pam Anderson doing a Baywatch run. I’m petite, i’m proportionate, and when I run my shirts collar is above my collarbone. The only thing you can notice is that it’s cold.

The OP says that she’s been really bothered by the whole thing since it happened:

I have moments of self assurance that fade into guilt and scumminess. I don’t know if I violated a big social norm here. AITA?

Pretty much everyone in the comments thinks two things:

  1. The OP was not in the wrong to jog braless
  2. Jogging braless sounds excruciating

As many folks pointed out, if the parents had a problem with her nipples they could…not look? It’s also bizarre to have a problem with nipples in the first place. They’re the ones making it a sexual moment when the OP is just trying to keep herself in shape. Seriously though, how is she running without a sports bra?

This jogger is definitely not an a**hole, but she does have some titanium-grade boobs.
