Customer Calls Out Dollar Tree For Selling Whole Cleaning Products As Individual Units

A Dollar Tree patron put the company on blast for selling their cleaning products in separate pieces. TikTok user (@thefunnybombshell) posted her comedic take on a broomstick detached from its respective brush while in the store. The video called to question why the money-saving company is making customers assemble their cleaning supplies.

Dollar Tree already has one strike against them after their recent decision to no longer make everything “$1 or less” in late 2021. Though the reasoning behind this inflation was so that the business could sell more products, faithful customers weren’t too happy about the switch. “Dollar Tree, or should I say, ‘Dollar 25 Tree-” says the TikToker at the start of her video.

Now customers are not only having to pay more than a dollar for their items, they’re having to buy them in separate parts as well! When @thefunnybombshell called out the brooms, many viewers mentioned other ‘DIY’ cleaning products, such as spray bottles and their nozzles. The original poster joked that the next step was “plunger sticks without the suction cups.”

‘Why take it apart and sell it separately?’ The TikToker’s clip of Dollar Tree’s separated broom brought in over 1.7 million views.

She began her clip by exclaiming, “I came in here for a broom…they’ve got the scrubber pads, the mop pads without the stick!” Though the video was posted with a comical tone, the answer to the mismatched broom is quite simple. By having a ‘universal’ broomstick, customers can pick which broom head they need. It allows the company to stock various products rather than just one.

Many viewers joked in the comment section about the ‘DIY’ cleaning supplies.
