Need some McDonald’s employee secrets on how to get the best stuff? Read on, because we’ve got them.
This comes from TikToker Ashton (@motheraangel) who shared a bunch of “fun facts” about her employer. (Scroll to the end for the full video.)
Here are some of her tips on how to beat the system.
First off, she said that the “life hack” to ask for French fries with no salt and you’ll get a fresh one at the window is wrong.
“You can just ask for the fry made fresh, and they’ll make it fresh,” she said.
Also, there’s no McDonald’s secret menu, but you can customize any item on the menu and they’ll do it.
The ice cream machine usually isn’t broken. They’re either cleaning it, or it’s in “heat mode” and unusable. Or they’re too busy during a rush and just won’t serve ice cream.
She also said that a cone is less expensive than a plain sundae.
“So if you want a plain sundae, get a cone, and ask for it in a cup,” she said. “It’s less money for the same amount of ice cream, and you get an ice cream cone.”
“Quarter meat,” like in a Quarter Pounder, is fresh — so if you want something fresh, get that.
If you want your food fresh, order late. After 10 or 11 pm, everything is made to order.
Ask for your cookies to be made fresh, she said. It just takes a few minutes and they taste better.
McDonald’s employees aren’t allowed to accept tips, but they’ll still accept them. “It will literally make our day,” she said.
If you get a McFlurry, don’t ask for extra Oreos or M&Ms. It’s a waste of money. Instead, ask them to mix it really well.
If your order is messed up, don’t demand for a refund, ask for a free meal card. It’s a better deal because then you can order something really expensive with it.
Getting water bottle is a waster of money; get a large cup of water for free.
Ashton also said that accruing points in the mobile app isn’t worth the time it takes — however, the rewards from the app are a “much better deal.”
The video went viral, with more than 7 million views.
And former McDonald’s employees agreed that her tips were accurate.
