The United States is currently experiencing a remarkable period of civil unrest. With tensions already running high due to the coronavirus pandemic and its ensuing quarantines, dangers, and privations the killing by police of George Floyd in Minneapolis set off a nation-wide series of protests that show no signs of letting up. These protests demanding an end to racist policing and police brutality have, predictably, led to clashes with the police who have employed physical violence, rubber bullets, and tear gas to drive back protestors.
Tear gas is often used as a catchall term but there are technically many different kinds of irritants used for crowd dispersal/civilian harassment with one of the most prevalent being pepper spray which works by irritating the mucous membranes in the same way chili peppers do. According to USA Today:
“The chemical irritant can cause a feeling of “bubbling” or “boiling” in your eyes, temporary blindness and eye pain. The effects can last 30 to 45 minutes.”
While classified as non-lethal pepper spray can cause serious complications. As the story in USA Today goes on to say:
“People who inhale pepper spray may develop a sudden elevation of blood pressure, which can lead to a stroke or heart attack, he said. Those with asthma also may be at higher risk for complications.”
Another potential complication? Getting coated with pepper spray can make it much, er, harder to rub one out later. Yes this is an actual concern for some people. Let’s find out more!
This incredibly specific conversation began when Twitter user @Fionerss shared the helpful advice that those who are protesting and have come into contact with pepper spray should use extreme caution when flicking their bean or jerkin’ their gherkin.
PRO TIP: if you are exposed to mace and/or tear gas DO NOT MASTURBATE, EVEN AFTER YOU WASH YOUR HANDS SEVERAL TIMES. this is not a joke i’m suffering

i always tell ppl to wash thoroughly before using the washroom to not burn their junk while wiping, this is a whole new level.
if u gotta masturbate after, do not trust that your hands are clean enough, even after multiple washes/a couple days. use gloves or keep your clothes on.— Tony Hawk’s bastard son ☭ (@cancelyouridols) June 1, 2020
