The Internet Roasts Televangelist Who Says “God Can’t Hear Prayers Through A Mask”

In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know, some evangelicals are declining vaccines and opposing mask mandates because they trust God to protect and heal them.

Jim Bakker, a televangelist who has had some run-ins with crazy sermons in the past, recently claimed that God can’t hear your prayers when you’re wearing a mask.

Sharing messages like this is harmful to the congregation who believe it and those who don’t. Many are left feeling like “bad Christians” if they don’t fully trust their healthcare to God. Not to mention it makes the whole community look bad when a huge preacher says God can’t always hear your prayers. It’s just inconsistent messaging.

The internet found out about Jim’s spreading of disinformation and of course, roasted him online for it. They did their homework and dug up some of Jim’s other crimes too, like when he was accused of raping and drugging a woman then using the money to buy her silence. Then how he went to prison for 24 counts of fraud in 1989 but was released after doing only 5 years of the sentence. Not a legal expert here, but a guy who went to prison for fraud isn’t exactly the type of person I recommend trusting.

People on Twitter wasted no time roasting his terrible medical advice:
