Man Collects Waffle House Receipts To Prove They Never Charge Him The Same Price

The Waffle House is a very, umm, unique franchise in the southern United States.

If you’re unfamiliar, this meme pretty much sums it up:

The food at Waffle House is simple, and perfect for hangovers, but the prices have zero consistency.

This is something a lot of people have noticed, but one man has dedicated time and energy to prove it. He has the literal receipts.

Twitter user @thedavidmille ordered the same thing three times and took a photo of each receipt, then posted them with the caption:

“Bro I get the same thing from the same Waffle House every time and my total still never come out the same.”

First, it was $8.55:

Then $8.88:

Then $9.09:

I’m not sure if Mille is mad about this. He followed up his comments with about a dozen laugh-crying emojis.

The people in his comments, however, got pretty heated. A lot of them have noticed not only the inconsistency but sudden increases on bills that are pretty outrageous.

Like this one, where a bill for $12.60 in the subtotal turned into 23.59 in the total:

Waffle House employees are mad, too, and trying to explain why the math actually adds up in a way that doesn’t involve alternate dimensions or daily inflation:

Waffle House itself got involved after Mille’s tweet went viral, wanting to “resolve” the customer service issue. Some people suggested that they try joining the rest of us in the year 2022 and get away to ring up orders that don’t depend on a tired servers’ math at the end of a long shift:

On the other hand, who wants to be in the year 2022? I can’t wait to get overcharged to sit in a Waffle house again. Maybe in 2023.
