TikTok User “Exposes” How The McDonald’s McRib Is Prepared

Do you enjoy the McDonald’s McRib? Maybe skip this.

A McDonald’s employee is going viral for a TikTok in which the McRib is “exposed” for looking…not at all like a rib is supposed to look.

The McRib is currently back at McDonald’s for a limited time, so if you’re planning on indulging yourself do so at your own risk.

In the video, TikTok user @thatonedepressedginger shows viewers how the McRib is cooked and stored.

In 2013, the McRib received similar treatment when a photo of a frozen McRib was posted on Reddit to everyone’s shock and disgust. Following that viral image, McDonald’s told the Huffington Post that they “flash freeze the patty to seal in flavor and freshness, just like you freeze meat in your own freezer, before going to our restaurants.

While I don’t know how anyone could be shocked that McDonald’s doesn’t use actual fresh ribs, some folks were surprised.

Look, the McRib is its own thing. If you want real ribs, there are plenty of places happy to serve you a rack.

After the video about the McRib went viral, @thatonedepressedginger made a video about how a quarter pounder is made and how the McChicken is made. If you have any other burning questions about McDonald’s @thatonedepressedginger is ready to answer them before leaving the job.
