Mike Tyson Gets a surprisingly cool face tattoo.
In 2003, Mike Tyson changed the face of boxing. Literally. He was the boxing world for a long time. After he served a six-year prison sentence, Tyson returned to boxing, and in 2003 decided he hated himself so much he wanted to cover his visage with a new one. The tattoo artist instead suggested a cool-as-hell Maori tribal symbol.
People in the early 2000s lost their minds, but I assume there’s a whole generation of people who know Tyson as the retired boxer with the cool tribal tattoo on his face, and not the convicted rapist who bit a dude’s ear off in the ring. To each their own. Here’s what Tyson says about it: “It looks awesome. That tattoo is me. Sometimes I see people with tattoos on their face and I’m like: ‘Woah, this guy is crazy!’ I forget that I’ve got one on my face.”
Kendall and Kylie Jenner dress for Halloween in 2000.
Before we were invited into their home for hours at a time on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kylie and Kendall were two normal girls. Two normal girls whose father was a lawyer in the crime of the century. Here they are before it all began.
Kendall claims she wasn’t popular as a child and it upset her: “I was sitting in my room a lot of days crying because Kylie had so many friends, and I didn’t know what to do, and it’s gonna make me emotional right now. I really was like, ‘I’m never gonna have friends.’” Now she has all the friends. Staring at her from afar as she mopes around the house with her family.
Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore party in NYC before the premiere of yet another Charlie’s Angels movie in 2003.
A reboot of an action-packed TV series about hot women solving crimes? Sign me up. As if the movie weren’t fun enough, the cast showed that they were having fun on and off the set.
Here’s what Drew had to say about being in the series: “It’s not often that a girl gets the chance to produce an amazing high octane franchise. That’s a lot of pressure because there’s a lot of money, but you also get to make stories where girls get to kick ass yet support each other, and love each other, and want to laugh with each other, and want to go on dates at night and then talk about the dates while they’re in the middle of everything else. They’re just girls with a great capacity for fun and a wicked sense of humor. And to live in that world for five years straight was really a blessed thing for me.”
Keanu Reeves relaxes somewhere in France in 2003.
Not really sure where he is. Could be anywhere, honestly. Keanu had a rigorous shooting schedule for The Matrix movies, and he needed to take a break somewhere. If only there were some recognizable landmark to show where this photo was taken.
Reeves revealed his arduous schedule and why he needed a break: “Before, we fought one at a time, and I know that they want me to do five. Which is master. That’s the real deal. If you can fight five people, that’s Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee stuff. So you need a whole other technique for that. You need a whole other level of proficiency, to be able to film close to real time and to be consistent and to have power on blows and to sell the punches.”
Mariah Carey apparently has a second bathroom strictly for Hello Kitty memorabilia.
Pop star Mariah Carey posed for this photo to show her love for Hello Kitty. Clearly, the bathroom is semi-functional since you can see her toothbrush in the background. How she showers, however, we may never know. Her love for the Hello Kitty brand has surpassed her need for this bathtub.
Mariah Carey lives in NYC where you can rent a bathtub-sized apartment for $4,000/month. This photo is the essence of luxury because no one else in the city has the ability to use space this way. She did it in a penthouse apartment no less.
