It can be hard to do activities with someone who is way outside of your income bracket. It’s awkward to say that you can’t afford the expensive thing the other person wants to do and it might be embarrassing to offer to pay someone’s way when they can’t pay.

Well, a man went to the AITA page of Reddit to ask if he was in the wrong for inviting his girlfriend on an expensive vacation and expecting her to pay half when she makes way less than him.
The author says his girlfriend chose to not participate in some of the activities and skipped meals to save money. The post raises some bigger questions about if they should be dating at all if he doesn’t pay attention to her.
He asked:
“AITA for inviting my (29M) Girlfriend (28F) on an expensive vacation and expecting her to pay all of her share? (I make a lot more than her)”

So yea, not a single person said he was in the right. Not this user…
Or this one…
Or this one…
Or this one…
I guess the moral of this story is, if you make 3x what your girlfriend does, maybe find it in your heart to treat her to a vacation instead of nickel and diming her?
Or at the very least, just have her pay her proportional share.
