Nikki Patterson got her first Eminem tattoo at 19 years old. Fifty-three more Eminem-themed tattoos later and she holds the Guinness World Record for “the most tattoos of the same musician tattooed on the body.”
Now 35, Patterson says it was the song “Stan” that turned her into an Eminem fan.
“I literally fell in love with him and the song,” Patterson told CNN. “I had never heard anything like this before. I showed it to my dad. Obviously, there was lots of swearing.”
Her first few tattoos were simple – the letter “E” and lyrics. It was when she met with tattoo artist David Corden when her life changed. Corden worked with her to create her first Eminem portrait piece, and the experience turned out to be a therapeutic one for Patterson.
“I went from hating the skin I was in to loving it.”
Going forward, David Corden became a trusted artist and has done eight tattoos for Patterson to date.
Patterson has collaborated with a number of tattoo artists for her collection, including Yarson Stachowicz and Jay Hutton.
Patterson’s dream is to have Eminem’s signature tattooed on her and created the hashtag #SignMeShady to get the rapper’s attention. Additionally, she uses her Instagram account to showcase her tattoos and currently has more than 12,000 followers.
Maybe Patterson’s impressive accomplishment will finally get her that signature tattoo. Come ON, Em!
