I had a panic attack at work at the end of a 70 hour week, I got fired because I didn’t have health insurance and couldn’t get a doctor’s note confirming I’d had a panic attack. The owner said me clutching my chest unable to breathe was me throwing a fit for working too much.

My brother unloaded Christmas trees at Target and found out he was allergic to the fire-retardant on them when his throat started to close up. His boss let him stop unloading trees, but put him on a register while he waited for us to get there to take him to the hospital.

Thinking about the Holidays a few years ago when I worked at old navy and they needed overnighted so they …. let us sleep in the break room between shifts instead of going home. Y’all ever think about how wild your retail experiences are only after ur away from that job. https://t.co/4WjsspLLtS

When I worked at Sam’s Club in 2011 on black Friday, my coworker had broken her arm. They threatened to fire her if she left so she remained at the register holding her arm crying the whole time. They threatened to fire me if I left to take her to the hospital.

I worked at @riteaid father in law passed away. Tried to call out to support my husband, I was told “NO” I had to come in.
My husband then called my manager and told him that he really needed me home with him. My manager told him “Yea well, I really need her too.” I had to go in.— Radella Naberius (@RachelSlur) November 29, 2020

Got in a car crash when I was 19 and called my manager from the hospital to tell her I couldn’t come in for my shift that night. She accused me of lying and asked if I had a “party to go to” and didn’t believe I was actually injured WHILE I WAS IN A HOSPITAL BED @bjsrestaurants https://t.co/g9LvZu3nER

Last month, at @walmart.
This is a pallet of laptops in front of my locker my entire shift. I asked repeatedly for it to be moved. My inhaler was in there.
Next day ASM said “its ok, you didnt have an asthma attack.”

Ah, reminds me of the time I got in trouble for letting a manager know early instead of “correctly” that I wouldn’t be at work because I needed to go to the emergency vet and put my dog to sleep. 🥰 https://t.co/XmM67rUU2D

I had a giant cyst on my ovaries that urgently needed to be looked at. My boss at the time yelled at me for scheduling an ultrasound at 10am (the only time they had) and wouldn’t let me go because it “cut into work time” – then she left to go get eyelash extensions.
