Starbucks isn’t the only food-and-beverage chain getting an early jump on pumpkin spice season. Krispy Kreme has announced the release of a new fall treat: the Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Donut. And if you ask us, it’s the perfect way to say goodbye to summer.

The new donut is similar to Krispy Kreme’s returning Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Donut, but with a delicious-sounding twist. The bad news? Both donuts are only on the menu for a limited time—so you better run to your nearest Krispy Kreme location before it’s too late.

What’s in a Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Donut?

The new version of Krispy Kreme’s Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Donut is stuffed with “cheesecake Kreme,” according to Scary Mommy. The original reportedly tastes like pumpkin pie, so the cheesecake is sure to be a mouth-watering addition to the classic fall treat.

Here’s how one reviewer described it:

“The base doughnut is light, airy and packs a sweet cinnamon flavor,” @bkupniewski wrote on Instagram. “The luscious and Twinkie-like filling is combined with a subtle tanginess to give you a cheesecake vibe. The cheesecake tone is not the strongest, but dense enough to match the name to the doughnut.”

According to @bkupniewski, one Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Donut packs 280 calories, 15 grams of fat, 34 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein. (“Official” nutrition information is not available on Krispy Kreme’s website.)

The Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Donut and Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Donut will disappear from Krispy Kreme menus Sunday. However, the chain’s Classic Pumpkin Spice Cake Donut and Pumpkin Spice Latte are available through Thanksgiving.

What’s more, Krispy Kreme has introduced a “Pumpkin Spice Purchase Protection” plan. Here’s how a press release describes the new policy:

“With so many pumpkin spice products hitting the scene—from body spray to doggie treats—some may have gone too far. Anyone disappointed by ANY pumpkin spice product on the market can trade it for one of Krispy Kreme’s delicious doughnut versions for FREE at participating shops throughout the U.S. now through Sept. 8.”

Not a bad deal at all.
