Servers Share Times They Embarrassed Themselves By Misunderstanding Customers (29 Tweets)

Working in a restaurant requires many skills, like efficiency and multi-tasking. We don’t talk enough about auditory comprehension in the server and customer relationship, but I might never stop thinking about it and laughing to myself after reading this thread started by Twitter user @lilyannatrnr.

“My bf told me when he was 17 he worked in a posh hotel and at breakfast some bloke asked him ‘is this crème fraîche?’ and he replied ‘yeah we don’t serve out of date food’ and I can’t stop thinking about it,” she wrote.

There are literally hundreds of responses from either servers or customers who had similar issues with ordering that they still think about ages later. In one case, it seems like both the server and the customer replied, reunited at last. Many of the responders sound like they’re from the U.K., and in some cases, I don’t even know what they’re referring to while reading it. Can’t imagine how hard it was to communicate in a noisy pub. Thanks for turning your cringiest moments into personal amusement for the rest of us:
