If you give a kid an inch, they’ll take a mile. Never forget that, parents, or you’re going to be in the position Redditor u/Okboomertattoo put his mother. In a post on r/AmItheA**hole, the 17-year-old boy claims he’s wanted to get a tattoo for a while but his parents resisted. They finally agreed that if he got an “A” average before midterms, they would allow him to get a tattoo of a dragon that he wanted. Instead, he got an Ok Boomer tattoo…across his chest.
His mother escorted him to the tattoo parlor, gave her consent, and then went to wait in the lobby. At that point, the OP had a change of taste and took a hard left on the dragon idea:
I was no longer that into the dragon image so I asked to get a tattoo that says “ ok boomer” and a pic of this girl who says ok boomer, it’s a tiktok/twitter thing and hard to explain but it’s got big anime energy too. They did the tattoo and it looks good but my mom is mad that I took advantage of her (her words not mine) to get an “ageist” tattoo. The tattoo is across my chest, not on my face so it will not impact my career. Thoughts?
Thoughts? My first thought is this is bullsh—t because classes are basically canceled and what tattoo parlor is open right now?
If it’s not, however, this is the TikTok Okay Boomer girl the OP is almost certainly referring to, and I can’t even imagine how she was translated into a tattoo:

If this is real, I do think it was a betrayal of trust to get a different tattoo than agreed to and a lesson on why teens shouldn’t be allowed to get tattoos.
we need to see it

People are split on whether the OP is wrong or not, but most folks seem to agree that is stupid:
In a way, his mom is right about the tattoo being ageist, but only because it makes young people look like absolute idiots.
