A reporter got more than he bargained for while covering the preparations for this weekend’s “Alienstock” in Rachel, Nevada, where alien hunters, rubberneckers, and fanatics alike are apparently actually showing up to an Area 51 raid outside the legendary alien autopsy facility.
According to the news report, a staggering 30,000 people are expected to show up to the isolated stretch of desert to do…well something. Nobody really knows what but the hijinks have already begun.
The stage is literally set for #AlienStock. Will anyone show up? #Area51 pic.twitter.com/xjH90sJGYr

In the storied tradition of people doing funny sh-t in the background behind news reporters, a man can be seen “Naruto running” through the shot.
Frankly, it’s an excellent run and wonderfully executed. He even leaves a dust cloud in his wake that looks downright animated.
For the uninitiated, this means he was running in the dramatic, arms-back style of the famous anime ninja Naruto.
Naturally, since it combined pop culture and memes with the beloved format of a real-life news blooper it was basically internet catnip.
“Raid Area 51 Weekend” or “Alienstock” is the latest example of an internet joke birthing a real life event after last month saw a slew of memes go viral, with the citizens of the internet vowing to storm Area 51 by forming a Ready Player One style nerd horde.
The background star’s run was presumably inspired by description for the Facebook event titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us” that spawned all of this insanity. That description read:
“We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.”
So to that brave Naruto runner leading the charge…Take heart! The internet is with you.
But also, for legal reasons we feel compelled to add: Be safe, ya schmucks.
