22-Year-Old With Coronavirus Walks Us Through Each Day Of What It Is Like To Fight The Virus

Young people and old people can get COVID-19. Some people seem to recover quickly, others have horrible stories about being hospitalized, and the mortality rate is troubling. While there is higher mortality amongst the elderly, it’s a myth that COVID-19 can’t kill or seriously debilitate young people. That said, folks want to know what it feels like to recover from COVID-19 when things go as well as they possibly can.

Someone claiming to be a 22-year-old woman named Bjonda Haliti in California wrote a thread about having been sick and testing positive for the virus.

It’s unclear how she got a test, because they seem to be in extremely short supply (for the non-famous) and she wasn’t seriously impaired. Maybe she’s a secret celebrity.

Anyway, she shared her story, detailing her symptoms day by day. They’re mostly what people have been told would happen: a migraine, which means pain in the eyes, chills, a fever, fatigue, dry cough, and a sore throat.

She then said her DMs were open, which might be a mistake considering how viral this whole thread went. A very generous offer though! And she gave some more public tips on how she pulled through:

She later clarified that she was prescribed ibuprofen before anyone realized it might be bad for treating COVID-19, and that the breath test circulating on social media was total B.S.

Hearing stories is simultaneously scary and reassuring. While it’s entirely possible to recover without complications, you never know how you will respond to the virus. That’s why social distancing is so important right now. Don’t roll the dice.
