Women have different body types and come in many shapes and sizes. Although women of size still experience a ton of stigma, shaming, and fatphobia, more models and fashion industry insiders are pushing for size diversity. With singers like Lizzo and models like Ashley Graham, women of size are showing how attractive they are and how they can have just as much fun with fashion—if not more—as teeny tiny models.
Plus-size Dominican model Denise Mercedes decided she was going to challenge fatphobia in her own way—with a TikTok challenge called “Style Not Size.” Mercedes and her friend Maria Castellanos put on the same outfits, showing that beauty comes in all sizes and shapes.
