I think we can all agree that influencer culture is the worst. It’s all a bunch of wannabe celebrities who expect to get rich—and sadly, many actually do—by doing a ton of #sponcon and posting 9,000 terribly posed and ridiculously Photoshopped photos for their legions of followers. Influencers promote unrealistic body and lifestyle standards and should be canceled ASAP. That is, except for Mikayla Saravia, who is doing something a little bit different.
The 21-year-old, who hails from Florida and currently has 2 million Instagram followers, does post your standard swimsuit shots, waist trainer advertisements, and twerking tutorials.

However, that’s not where her money comes from. According to LAD Bible, Saravia banks about $100,000 every year because of another notable feature: her extremely long tongue.

Saravia says she gets between $900 and $3000 per post of herself licking food items and displaying her exceptionally long appendage. She even has merchandise on her website, with her personalized tongue logo appearing on sex toys, t-shirts, and phone chargers.
In an interview, Saravia said she realized her tongue was longer than average all the way back in sixth grade but that she tries to use it to create engaging, original content on her social media account now.

“I think outside the box and try to be different,” she explained. “My favorite video is my Thanksgiving shoot – it was pretty funny. I pretended to be a turkey on the dinner table.”
She also elaborated on her financial situation, saying, “I do ads and I monetize my YouTube and my app. I also sell merch on my website. Last year I made a little under $50k – should be better this year because I’ve already doubled that amount.”
Saravia doesn’t want to be known as the internet sex symbol with the long tongue. In fact, she wants her fans and followers to see and appreciate who she is as a person.

“I wish people understood that I’m very down to earth. Some people think people with a lot of followers are cocky and boujee but I’m pretty down to earth,” she insisted.
Saravia is clearly killing it in the influencer game by having something the others don’t. Sure, she was born with that crazy tongue, but if it makes her money, go for it!
