Jennifer Aniston recently came under fire for a Christmas ornament with a very darkly funny message.
Was she being insensitive or trying to find some humor in a difficult time? That’s the debate raging on social media after Jennifer Aniston posted a pic of an ornament reading “Our first pandemic 2020” on Instagram.

Aniston didn’t include a caption or identify the ornament as hers, but folks made the assumption that the ornament belonged to Aniston.

Some people argued that Aniston was mocking a very serious event in many lives, even being offensive to those who have lost loved ones to COVID-19.

jennifer aniston is constantly shamed by media and now getting backlash for an ORNAMENT lets deal with the actual problematic people, she spent this whole year telling people to wear a mask and you would’ve known that if you actually paid attention to her but people clearly don’t

Others defended her for using humor to acknowledge reality.
If you’re pressed about Jennifer Aniston’s “1st pandemic” ornament then you sincerely have zero sense of humor. Everybody copes differently. Doesn’t mean she doesn’t get the weight of this year. Just means she’s coping with humor. It wasn’t even an offensive saying?

They also explained that Aniston has been an advocate for mask-wearing and supporting small businesses.
If you’re upset about Jennifer Aniston’s ornament Instagram story – let’s not forget how she plugged small businesses to try to help them in a hard time, and urges people to wear masks in pretty much every post she makes…. #jenniferaniston pic.twitter.com/sZJMC8ACJ8

The ornament is a custom-made design from Etsy store Rustic Raleigh, owner Brittany Sutton told Insider on Sunday. So at least Aniston was supporting local businesses?
